Surgery Day

We made it safely to the hospital just
after six and got settled in for surgery.
We didn't win anything with our Timmies
but, other than that, the rest of the day
was pretty darn amazing.

One good thing about doing all these
surgeries now is that Jude won't remember
any of this and he doesn't really understand
what's going on. For instance, I'm pretty
sure he thought we were just visiting the
most awesome playland this morning...
Just whippin' up a little somethin'

Such a dude :)

Boys will be boys...

Hotdog, anyone??

Peek-a-boo! I see you...two!

Really, could he be any cuter?
I'm pretty sure I just want to eat him up :)

Kisses from Mommy
(How embarrassing!)

Hugs from Daddy

And it's off to the O.R.!
...

10-1 = 9

As he slowly came out of the anesthetic haze, Jude
gave everyone the stink eye. He was so grouchy!
It was actually kind of funny because it was so
out of character for him...

...but it didn't last long.
Within the first hour Jude tugged/kicked/picked
all his monitors off and was peaking around
the recovery room charming all the nurses and
other patients. He's such a schmoozer!
And here he is 'fishing' with his blood
pressure monitor leads...ha!

I have everything I need...
Can I go home now?

Yes! We can go home!

Thank you to everyone who was thinking of us
and praying for our family today. We saw God's
hand on Jude's life in so many ways today and we
truly believe that your prayers are shaking the heavens
on his behalf. We are so thankful to have you on this
journey with us. We couldn't do it without you.
And we couldn't do it without Him...

When I was desperate, I called out,
and God got me out of a tight spot.
God's angel sets up a circle
of protection around us while we pray.
Open your mouth and taste,
open your eyes and see—

how good God is.
Blessed are you who run to him.

  3. It is good that Jude won't remember much of this, so it'll be a blessing to him when he's older to see the photos and read your excellent posts. Your view of events - guided by the language of faith - is encouraging, healthy, and is dedicated to the glory of God.
