The Chicks

These little fellows (and darlings) arrived a couple
weeks ago. After a little bit of scrambling, Grandma and
Grandpa had a perfect little spot all ready for them.
The kids are SO excited they're here!

The first meet and greet :)

Gracie Jo took to them right away.
We're already talking about 'the plan'
for this fall so she doesn't get too attached...

Silas loved that they were so soft and fuzzy.
It didn't last long though, they're already in the
'ugly' stage - they grow so fast!

Levi was a little more hesitant, but with some
gentle encouragement from Grandma he was soon
snuggled up with them as well...until this little
chickie pooped on him. He's not quite as fond
of them anymore. Hee!

My mother-in-law has such a love for nature
and a deep appreciation and joy for the gift of
God's creation. I love how she shares this with
our kids.
The things they have already learned and experienced because of the things she's done with them is so special. They are so blessed by the time she takes to share this love with them. The neat thing is that Peter has so many memories of spending time out in the bush with his grandmother, discovering, adventuring, learning and playing with her. I love seeing this joy-filled relationship repeating itself in a new generation. Sharing this love of nature and family is such a gift, isn't it?

Praise to the Sovereign LORD for His Creation and Providence
Bless the LORD, O my soul!
~Psalm 104:1~
